 Working within the finance department to assist with the creation of a handful of stand-alone MS Access applications that provide off-line management of promotion sales data from JD Edwards.  The flexibility and rapid application design of MS Access allowed us to work with financial analysts to provide solutions without any VBA coding that were then handed over to them for use and future development.  Also held a series of introduction to MS Access training courses to increase the department's overall knowledge of MS Access.

I worked very closely with NHS administration, doctors and nursing staff at a NHS Hospital on a very limited time scale project to a definite deadline. I produced and supported (both on and off site) a year 2000 contingency application, required to replace an existing system (Di-Proton). I developed an MS Access 2000/XP client-server database that manages and monitors the day-to-day administration of kidney dialysis patients.  Existing patient data held in the old application was converted into the new MS SQL Sever 2000 back end database.  The application has since been expanded and extra functionality developed.  Managed at Indian outsource team to re-write the application into .NET.  It is now used as their permanent live system and has also been taken on by other NHS Trusts to manage their Renal patients.

Further Development and redesign of an existing Rights of Way application whilst converting it from MS Access 2.0 into 97.  Complying to both a detailed specifications from the internal users and the British Standards.  The database is a tool that ensures the County Council’s legal responsibilities are met as well as maintaining the detailed information of changes, complaints and descriptions of the Rights of Way of Hertfordshire.  I also developed Driver Training Course (scheduling), Environmental Pledge (data storage), and Heritage Site (historical data maintenance) databases.

MS Access 97 database for managing an on-line classical CD shop.  Required a lot of data manipulation from the various data source of CD listings (Word documents, Web pages, text files) to produce a full referential database.  The resulting catalogue was then exported as SQL statements to populate a MySQL database on a Unix Web Server.

MW Kellogg Limited are a construction company with large-scale projects around the world. While contracted, I produced MS Access databases to provide cost tracking, forecasting and actual man-hours/cost of the project, vendor equipment data collection, material distribution, equipment tracking, overall project erection and fabrication man-hours and material cost estimation as well as general MS Access support for the company.  Connection to legacy Oracle databases achieved via ODBC.  Importing, verifying and reporting of data into MS Access from Excel, Fox Pro, VAX reports produced as unformatted text files.
